Our first day of the cob course involved a bit of ‘team building’ rock wrestling moving a large piece of Preseli Bluestone to become the cornerstone of our cob greenhouse. Using roundwood rollers, ropes, and a lot of stone age technology we moved this huge stone, safely, about 100m over rough terrain. I always find this sort of job great fun, and actually it was a brilliant start to the course. People naturally take their places – I was part of the anchor – and form into a well oiled ‘machine’ by the end of the mission.
Rock & roll!
